Automation of forest valuation and finding out of natural and economic changes in forest plantations

Works for development of software for the purpose of automation of valuation and finding out of natural and economic changes in forest plantations in the territory of the Far Eastern Federal District in the Khabarovsk, Primorsky and Trans-Baikal Territories

Methodic:

Decoding of remote sensing materials for the purpose of forest valuation and finding out of changes in quantitative and qualitative forests characteristics
Monitoring of changes in stocks and the state of forest plantations after performing of forestry activities and the impact of adverse natural factors (fires, windfalls, pests, diseases, etc.) based on usage of automated methods and algorithms of comparing ERS data
Methods, algorithms and software ensuring regular automatic identification and assessment of quantitative and qualitative changes in forest stands were developed
Development of methodology for carrying out work on forest valuation by automated remote methods during forest management and comprehensive economic assessment of wood resources
Preparation of a list of changes to the forest management instruction and reason for making such changes
Development of a project for a comprehensive economic assessment of the territory located in the Trans-Baikal Territory

Results:

Sites for conducting a comprehensive study in the Khabarovsk, Primorsky and Trans-Baikal Territories have been identified as pilot territories of the Far Eastern Federal District.
Total area — 2 000 000 hectares.
Developed methodology and software allows to automate forest valuation and finding out of natural and economic changes in forest plantations.
